PLAGIARSM

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

·         🍁 It refers to the act of taking an idea, writing or creation of another person and proudly claiming it’s one’s work.

·         🍁 Example: Assignments, articles, journals, product, etc.




 HOW TO PREVENT PLAGIARISM?

       🍀 Paraphrasing: Express the meaning of writer using different words especially to achieve greater clarify.

          🍀 Referencing: Provide (a book or article) with citations of authorities.

  STEPS TO PARAPHRASING:
         1) REWORDplace words by using synonyms.
        2) REARRANGEactive to passive / passive to active.
       3) RECHECKmake sure the meaning is same as original topic.

     EXERCISES (PARAPHRASING):
1.      Exercising is very positive for the immune system. People should exercise at least three times a week.
Answer: Exercising gives advantages to immune system. It should be done at least three times a week.

2.      Our immune system will get benefit when we exercise. It is recommended to be performed three times a week.
Answer: Our immune system will gain advantage when we exercise. It is suggested to be accomplished three times a week.

3.      Part time job allows students to gain extra income to support their financial. However, students need to be wise in managing their time for work and study.
Answer: Students can get additional income when they work part time. However, they have to plan their time for work and study.

Students must be given freedom to use their mobile phone in the classroom. It can be used as learning tool for the students to search for extra notes or explanation.
Answer: Students must be given freedom to use their gadgets in the lecture room. It can be used as learning tool for the students to explore for additional notes or explanation.

REFERENCING
·          🍋 One of the most important ways to avoid plagiarism is referencing.
·         🍋 Include a referencing page or page of words used at the end of your paper.
·         🍋 Check the guidelines writing the sources properly and make sure that the page meets the document formatting guidelines used by UiTM.
·         🍋 Look for the APA 6th formatting style.
·         🍋 Be sure to edit  your research paper.
·         🍋 Refer to your instructor / lecturer for the turnitin account to assess your paraphrasing and other anti-plagiarism skills.

WHAT IS GPA?
           🍩 A Grade Point Average (GPA) refers to the calculated average of the letter grades a student earns in each semester following a 0 to 4.0 scale.

WHAT IS CGPA?
           🍩 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) refers to the overall GPA, which includes dividing the number of quality points earned in all courses attempted by the total credit hours in all attempted courses.
